DHPP boosters are given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks with the rabies given at 16 weeks. One year later, another DHPP booster and rabies booster is given. After that, you can vaccinated every three years. Most grooming and boarding places require bordetella every 6 months. Vets can vary in the exact protocol they use as well. Lacy is 2 and like I said just had a DHPP and rabies booster. Her rabies is good for three years but they want to vaccinate her with another DHPP booster in one year before doing that one every three years. On the years your dog does not receive vaccines, you should still go in for a yearly physical exam and heartworm test.
