If they get in your house, the least toxic way to get rid of them is by sprinkling borax (or there's another product, I forget what it's called) all over your carpets. It is non-toxic unless your pet sits there and ingests a whole bunch of it, which they won't. Leave the borax in the carpet for a day or two, and then vacuum it up. No more fleas or flea eggs after that. Just make sure to throw out the vacuum bag immediately or empty the vacuum canister into the trash bin outside immediately. Also, leave a little of the borax in corners where your dog can't get to and behind the couch, etc. Borax is supposed to be effective for up to a year. It really works
