It could be the Trachea issue- Yorkies are prone to collapsing tracheas. I am not an expert but have had yorkies all my life. One of our little guys (my parents' dog Pip) is 15 and going on 15 1/2 years old...he often gets this and can't catch his breath. We've been managing it for awhile now. They also have a 3 year old yorkie who happens to get this when he's on his walk - it can be reduced by using a harness. He just gets excited and his throat becomes constricted and continues to hack...does anyone else experience this or am I the only one that is crazy for thinking this?
