Hi and welcome to YT! Puppies do need something to 'sink' their feet into. If it's a hard slick surface it will be hard on them. It's hard enough to learn to walk good, without having their feet and legs sliding out from under them. Make sure there is something (where ever you're keeping them) that is not a slick hard surface.
