My pup was on prednizone for about 6 weeks after a case of menengitis and encephalitis. She was more irritable, gained a lot of water weight, had potty inconsistencies, and ate a lot more. But, being someone who has had experience with the human elderly, these are general symptoms for humans who take the drug as well. It truly saved my pup's life, and I was willing to put up with her inconsistencies in normal behavior for what it was doing for her.

I know that not all medicines work the same for everyone. I hope that you can find a good remedy for your pet. In serious cases, human or canine, sometimes prednizone is the only choice. But us yorkie mommies would do anything to save their lives, right?
