Awww, what a sad thing to happen. I agree, these little guys seem so "tough" in their own minds, we almost convince ourselves that they are less fragile than they are. Max has no issue with jumping and I have to watch him to make sure he doesn't decide to just jump off the side of the bed (which is 32 inches from the floor) and uses the bench at the end. He's not a tiny tiny, and is pretty solid, but still....this is a reminder of how easily they can get injured.
I'm really sorry for the breeder and for you, especially since you were hoping for a sibling from the same pair.
