I started using a gentle shampoo for stronger hair, and my little girl's hair has thickened quite a lot in the last 6 months or so. It used to break off quite easily, but I used the shampoo on the top of her scalp the most (where it was the most thin). I would just suggest being patient, and maybe observing if she is rubbing her head on anything, or if and when her hair is breaking.
I thought my little boy was going bald when I first got pictures of him (before I picked him up for the first time), and when I took a good look, I just realized that his hair was growing in white underneath all that black puppy hair. The little black tips were so cute!!!
