It is best that the pup stay with mom until a little older. I know that down here, people will let them go as early as 6 weeks...which, IMO, is WAY too young.
I got Dallas and Gracie at 8 weeks and they've done just fine adjusting and bonding. I sold one pup at around 14 weeks and it took him a lot longer to bond with his new family.
