My 10 year old granddaughter watches a lot of those Disney shows (hence, so do I) and Hannah Montana is her favorite, and quite frankly, my favorite too. When it's on, I will actually sit down and watch - whereas, the others I just "hear".
I read a story about how Billy Ray is trying to raise Miley (Hannah) to (hopefully) avoid the "star" troubles of the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, etc etc. He is fully aware of the pitfalls of stardome and hopes to keep Miley from falling into many of them. I think that is reflected in the show - Hannah living two lives, one normal and one not.
I sure hope he succeeds because Miley is a cutie pie, with talent. I'd love to see someone succeed in show business without all the trash/drugs baggage.
