We are looking for a good home for our male yorkie, Winston (“Winnie”). He’s a great dog. He’s healthy with all his shots and is neutered. He is 9 years old and has been my wife’s companion his whole life – now he’s my step-dog. His favorite activity is sitting with me in the recliner. He’s full of spunk and quirks, as are most yorkies – won’t eat unless we are there, sits on my left side only , favorite toy is a leather moccasin that we replace annually, arch enemy is the mailman, very protective when we are home. I’ve always preferred large hunting dogs myself, but this little guy has earned my respect. Pictures attached.
However, our daughter is 14 months old now and just started to walk. Winnie has been good about avoiding her until now, but we are concerned that she will surprise him, or play with him when he is eating, and he will snap at her. I understand that the yorkie breed is not recommended for small children – and we are beginning to see those signs.
We would love to find a good home in Houston for him. You are welcome to visit him at our home. We will show you how we’ve trained him, feed him, give him his thyroid medicine, etc. We’d love for you to have his toys and beds, as well. Warning: my wife will be crying when you take him – I'll miss him too.
