I say go for it, but be SO CAREFUL with going blonde!

I struggled through 3 years of streaks, orangey brassy color and just total unhappiness and corrective color because of hair stylists that stunk .

When I moved from my small town to Boston I found an amazing stylist that made me look like I was naturally blonde. It was awesome! I kept it up for 2 years until I moved back to NY (because I dont trust anyone here, lol).

It was very expensive for me though. It cost me 300 for the higlights every 2.5-3 months not including hair cuts, or the special products you need to buy for color treated hair.

So, I'd definitely look at other people who have highlights, ask who did theirs.. find the BEST person to do it for you. Then make sure you get special shampoos/conditioners that won't strip the color or turn you brassy .

Highlights are fun fun FUN. But, your hair will never be the same once you color it IMO. I started at 15 and haven't seen my "true" haircolor since .
