Here's my take. You are in NY and you have the BEST surgeons at you access and also being that NY is expensive, my advice is to make sure the surgeon is Board Certified. If this Doctor is Board Certified, than I say go for the consult. However, if he is not, then I would suggest seeking another one out. I just feel that if you have come to the 'acceptance' of paying a high price for a necessary surgery, than you really want the BEST of the BEST.
