I say do it, it really puts some dimension in your hair so it's not just one flat dull color, you'll love it....if you know someone who's good at what they do, that's a big plus....

My granddaughter and a few put in her hair and it looks like she has been sitting in the sun, it's very pretty....

The down side....ROOTS!!......the upkeep stinks....I've been getting highlights for years, I started out with about 60% my natural color and 40% highlights, after a few years it looked like I had blonde hair with very little highlights showing, the colorist had to put in lowlights (a darker color ) and highlights to get it back to where it was...Every time they do a highlight job they never do the exact same strands they're different ones so eventually all my hair was highlighted....it's back to where it should be now...Good Luck!!.
