Is She Pregnant? Hi,
This is my first time posting but I hope you all can help me out.
My little girl, Daisy Mae, is now 10 months old and back in June (8 months of age) she got stuck with my husband's dog (not a yorkie). (long story there) I was sure I marked on the calander her first day of heat as well as when they got stuck, but apparently I didn't. I am sure when it happened that I had calculated and if she were pregnant she would be due around Aug 19, so any day now.
Ok, now to my questions...this was Daisy's first heat and it was also the male's first stud. I phoned the vet immediately when this happened and they said that with this being her first heat and his first time that the chances of her being pg were slim. Also, he only has one testicle, so they said his chances of being able to breed her were ven more slim. Basically, after all the info I was given, my husband and I decided that the chance of her actually beign pg was so slim that we would just leave everything be.
Well, now that it's close to her due date, if she were pregnant, I have started to notice some symptoms that I had been told about. I don't think she looks pregnant but she does feel heavier and also I've been noticing that her tummy area seems fatty...not big pregnant but just fatty feeling skin. She has been doing a lot of scratching and the male has really been sniffing at her bottom non-stop. I haven't noticed any discharge.
She has been sleeping alot, but she has always been a sleeper. She has been much more affectionate towards me but that is on and off also.
I'm just wondering what everyone thinks of this...I know there isn't really much to go on with my post. Up until the last two weeks or so I was sure she wasn't pregnant but the past two weeks she just seems to be acting a little different. I don't want to take her for an x-ray because I did this in the past with my other dog and it wasn't quite right, so I just don't put much into the whole x-ray thing.
Thanks for any help you can offer! Again, sorry this is so rambled and not much to go on!
