I think it depends on how much hair they have in their ears. Sadie doesn't have a silky thick coat and doesn't get alot of hair in her ears..Although I do keep and eye on them and if they need it I do it. Lillie, on the other hand, has alot of coat and is thicker..she does get too much hair in her ears. She doesn't like having it pulled out (which I can't say that I blame her) but, when I give her her bath I use a wash cloth(this way I don't get water in her ears) and wet the hair in her ears, then I use eyebrows tweezers and pull out the hair...she does cry a little so I only do a little at each bath time. I think having the hair wet makes it easier to pull the hair out.
