We had this happen with Avery (recently).
Just trim the hair on the top part of the ears(front and back)-trim it way way down. Then i blended the rest of her ears, by trimming(just a bit-with scissors). You shouldn't have to shave the WHOLE ear, if you dont want. good luck.
