Each pup is different following surgery. When Angel was spayed a few months ago, we needed to keep her on the pain meds to keep her activity levels down. She ended up with an infection and a red, angry/oozing incision. Because of all of that, we had no choice but to use the cone as it kept her much more still. She ended up being on pain meds, antibiotics and the cone for 10 days till she was better and then the stitches came out finally!!
