I am sorry to hear about your baby. I have always used ramps and stairs so that they don't have to jump off anything. Maybe you could get a ramp for the bed and we use little cat condo's (single story) by all the beds and couch so they can get up and down easier. Also, there are some supplements that help with joints etc the vet shoudl be able to tell you what would be best for your little one.
