Cry My 8 month old baby had surgery on her broken elbow..advice?

So I was so excited that my puppy ended up being a little larger boned than I originally wanted because I figured she wouldnt have as many issues with bones breaking or not being able to jump....WRONG! She has been such an active puppy since day one..always on the bed, couch, etc with no problems. But last Tuesday she jumped off the bed and landed wrong, breaking her elbow...poor thing, that was the worst noise and crying I have ever heard! Had to take her to the ER vet..who gave her a splint and referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. He explained that she broke her humerus, and poor little thing even bent it out, not in. She would need to have a screw and pin put in place. He also told me her back legs were a 2 and a 3 with the patella problem. So Thursday she had the surgery and I brought her home Friday. Was curious if anyone else has dealt with a breakage like this and the recovery, because she still wont walk on it, Im sure it hurts, but I hope she starts to use it again soon. Also after 6 weeks when I go back for xrays she may have to have the screw removed because he had to place it so close to the joint. So if you have any suggestions or advice with this situation would greatly appreciate it! Hate seeing my baby in pain. Also with the patellas, and now her surgery, was reading about the Cosequin supplements, so would that be a really good thing to start giving her? I would really like to not have to have her go through surgery again later on in life with her back legs!
