i home cook for Layla. When i got her she was on purina... i switched to Iams... then to Blue Buffalo and that made her very sick... at whcih point i did my homeework and realized what is best for her is homecooking. I cook about once every month or two and freeze the food (if i could i'd make it fresh every day but i'm at university student.. not going to happen ) if you want to read a GREAT book on getting started Dr. Pitcairn wrote a book all on homecooking you can find at Barnes and Noble or somewher like that
That said if you don't think homecooking is for you (and it's not for everone) Orijen, in my opinion, is THE BEST FOOD.... there are no grains in it as dogs dont' really need them.. they are just fillers.... it is 70 % meat and 30% fruits and veggies. you can get it at most healthy pet stores, usually small and locally owned. but make the transition slowly. Also good foods are Fromm, Wellness, Canidae,
