I do know that taking my dog places will cause certain attention. I'm used to and don't mind people looking at us or saying, "oh, that's a cute dog!" or asking a few questions about her. I also don't mind well behaved, calm children coming up to us and politely asking if they can pet her. The children running around unattended would have bothered me even if I didn't have my dog. It just made it worse that I was holding a dog and they kept running up to me and saying "puppy puppy". If my dog didn't behave I wouldn't take her places - she is very quiet and still when we go places, and while I was trying on clothes, she just sat quietly on the bench and didn't even move. If I had kids that just couldn't behave - they also would not be going anywhere with me. I really think if I had kids (which I probably won't) they would be under my control at all times. I just wish more people would make their children behave. I know not everyone likes dogs, but not everyone likes children either..especially those running around like that
