Confused Can't figure this one out...can you?

We have 3 dogs; Alfie, a 13 yr old cocker spaniel mix, Lucky or 2+yr old yorkie, and Lexie our 1 yr old yorkie.
This is so weird to me ...maybe you can figure it out. When we decide to go for a walk, get the leashes out and begin to put them on the dogs, Lucky goes into a barking frenzy over the fact that Alfie is going along. Just Alfie, not Lexie. He barks in an irate tone, non-stop, and should he get down off my lap or if I put him down he actually takes off after Alfie and proceeds to bite him where ever he can reach. If I keep hold of him until everybody has their leashes on and we proceed on our walk, he will try to get at Alfie for about the first half a block or so til he gets over it and is then fine with him being there for the rest of the walk. Again, he only does this with Alfie, not Lexie. He and Alfie get along fine any other time; always has. So, what is his problem with Alfie joining us for walks? Would love to hear your opinion on this one....
