I suppose when we all started, we started as pet owners. These little guys are our babies and we tend to view them as our children....But, as you say when in the world of showing and breeding you learn the correct dog world vocabulary.....Females - Bitches - Males - Studs.....etc....it just becomes natural after a bit. Bitch was established as an animal term for identifying a female....humans turned it into a negative word.
