yup, that's what our vet said, barley is high on the his list of things that could cause allergies, BUT it did not mean that all dogs will have an allergic reaction to it. He says the same thing, find a food that works and stick to it. The only thing he really said to stay way from were wheat, soy, corn.

So we went ahead and did an expensive blood test to see if in fact barley bothers her along with 15 other items to see what she maybe allergic to. I think it's just the San Diego area, as I too have had allergies since living here. When I went to Hawaii a few months ago, I have absolutely NO allergies the week we were there. So that could be a factor too, pollen etc. I sure hope we find the culprit. I too give her 1/2 her meals as homecooked meals and the other 1/2 with dry kibble.

Yorkiedaze, what do you use to flavor your grilled salmon?
