It depends on what form of benadryl you are using.
Look on the back of the package to see how much Diphenhydramine HCl is in each dose. The recommended dosage for dogs is 0.5 - 1.0 mg per pound.
For example, the children's liquid benadryl contains 12.5 mg per 5 ml (or 2.5 mg for every 1 ml). So the correct dosage would be 0.2 - 0.4 ml per pound.
For a 10 lb dog that would be 2.0 - 4.0 ml (ml is the same as cc). Or you could use the children's chewable tablets (12.5 mg per tablet) and give him 3/8 - 3/4 of one.
