Gerbils, gerbils, gerbils. My kids got a two gerbils from a neighbor when they were young. A gerbil was pregnant. Several babies were delivered. Mom started to eat one but when we removed the other gerbil from the cage, she stopped.
After those gerbils died, they got more. The pet store worker assured us the gerbils were female. Well, he didn't tell us they had been with males and were BOTH pregnant!
Well, we ended up with gerbil city..
We gave some away and they had babies.... neverending story, eh?
We took peat moss and put it pretty deep their tank and they would dig tunnels all over the place and had places to hide. It was pretty cool - even though I DO NOT like rodents.
They finally all died and I said NO MORE! Then ferrets entered our lives.
So G&M, I hope yours are pregnant - oh I mean hope they are not!
