Dogs need to chew and they need to expend their energy.

The only warning I'd give about tug-of-war and biting is that if pup accidentally makes contact with skin, the game is over. Immediately stand up and turn your back. It's okay to play again after a few minutes but let pup know that contact with skin is unacceptable. Otherwise, tug away!
