For new litters, I would recommend buying either an electronic scale ($40 or more) at a kitchen store or asking your vet where he/she gets his/hers from. The $10-20 scales at Walmart are not going to measure a 1.2 lb baby accurately. Expensive, but if you plan to breed continuously, it will pay off in the long run -- you can show prospective parents the pup's weight from birth to present from week 1 up ... Good luck! Oh, you might also try a restaurant supply store; they always have stuff much cheaper than the chain bed, bath and kitchen stores.
