i travelled with mocha to ny from st. louis, mo. it was a pretty long flight. i took her in my carrier ($80 one way on united). i didn't go through much nonsense except when i checked in, they put the tag on it and peered through my carrier.

walking through security, i just took her out of the carrier (to go through screening), and walked through with her in my arms.

other than that, i was fine. my friend took her two chi's on the same flight. paid $160 (one way for 2 pets) and did not have any problems. both were about 15 lbs combined weight and she put them in the same carrier.
