That happened with one of our heelers. We completely stopped playing fetch, and put up all the balls and frisbies for two weeks. When we resumed playing, it was straight line fetching. Nothing that would require jumping. It was soon after that, when it was time for her annual physical at the vet. He told us what we did was the best thing at the time. He checked her out, and she was fine. He said it was apparent, that it was only a pulled muscle or strain. No bones broken or out of line. I do remember the crying. Sometimes when Pepper would simply lay down, she would let out just one LOUD YELP, but that was all. We watched her very close, and each day she got better. Good Luck with your baby. It's true, they do love to play.
