When I put her in it - even when I put the x-pen around it she gets out and lies down on her pee pad. Then she cries when no one is in the room. After about an hour, I gave up and let her out. I don't want her to be upset.
I'd have the babies for her if I could. I had 3 kids by natural childbuirth (there was no epidural when my kids were born). How do you teach a Yorkie Lamaze breathing?

LOL! Lamaze! I wish

Maybe the panting is Lamaze
The screaming only lasted for a little while and she's the only one that I have ever had do that. She never did the panting or grunting. It was more like the first part of dialating, she was hollering, and then after that, she stopped hollering and went to pushing. Just try to comfort her. You'll both do fine.
As far as the whelping box, she may not want to have her babies in there. Mine usually have their first one on the floor with sheets and blankets with me and then I move them to the whelping box and they stay there and have the rest. When they're pregnant, they want alot of attention and don't want to be left alone.
Good Luck!! Let us know when it looks like it's time.
