Poor Maxie wasn't doing well the first few weeks we got her. She is now 8 months and doing better. The poop is a daily log with me and my husband "Did she poop? How much? Soft or hard?" It definitely depends on the food/treats. The pupperoni does a job. She likes chicken jerky, and rice and is beginning to turn her nose to biscuits (what a princess).
I too brought my poor girl to the vet. Initially there was a problem, but twice afterwards, she was fine. I just monitor for a change in bowel movements and call the vet if I notice a turn for the worse.
