Reagan no longer uses pads but when she is outside she walks and goes so I'm sure she would too be one of those who walk away from the pad too. When we first got her they had been using pads so we did too for a while. I used a storage box, one for under a bed that isn't very high, to put her pads in that way she actually had to get in the box and onto the pad to use them. Maybe you could try something like this and that way he won't be able to walk off the pad or rather he will better know when he is walking off of it.
