For most arrangements it is good to have a shape in mind, like a square, rectangle,etc. Then when you are arranging them make sure that the outermost picture edges are on the borders of your shape to make that shape.

That's the best way to do it...see how it looks 'arranged' before you start hammering! Maybe if you google..."Arranging a group of pictures", you'll get some info from a home decorator site.
