I finally broke down and bought the 27mm gold series CC brush as my maltese's hair was 14 inches long and cottony But it also said in the description that it was for "fragile" coats which sort of clinched the idea of getting that brush. My yorkie is in long coat too but has thinner but works fine on him as well. I love the brush and have no regrets in spending the extra for it. But now that I have cut Kallie's hair shorter and Toby's hair is thinner, I am going to buy another brush but still in the gold series group..........maybe even a butter comb.
