 Baby is sick
My little pup is 1# 4 oz., 6.5 weeks old. He was fine at his checkup and shot yesterday. Today I gave them Sentinel for flea and heartworm. This evening I found a little poop stuck to his hiney. I soaked his butt and cleaned him up. After drying him, I had him wrapped in a handtowel to put him to bed. When I layed him down he had pooped - a lot - I just barely noticed it before mom cleaned it up. Then he started shivering and now seems bloated. His temp is 102.1, I put vaseline on his bottom, then cortizone 10. It seems his rectum is a little swollen out. I also fed him about 1/2 inch of Nutrical.
He has stopped shivering but did not go to the bathroom again, and he is sleeping wrapped up in a towel. Do you think he is fine and I can put him to bed or should I continue to watch him. And is there something else I should do. |
