I tried using break away cat collars on mine but they came off all the time, all they had to do was rub them on the floor for a bit and they would pop right open. I use regular clip dog collars on them now, its my opinion that usually when dogs get them caught on things its because the collars are too loose. Fitted correctly I can't see how they would get caught on anything.
