If your battery life is that bad then you need a new one. When your home I would suggest a direct plug and not the battery. I think the standard battery that comes with most Laptops are ok. Plus a lot of the older batteries have the memory thing in them that makes it so that it will take only so many charges.
My mom got a new dell laptop last year and I kept on telling her to unplug it and not use it plugged in and with the battery a the same time becuase it defeats the purpose. She didn't listen and now needs a new battery.
I don't have a subscription to consumers digest. I have to see how much it runs to sign up for it. I would like to find out more information about this laptop.
