I'll say this about Sony - they have a good name but I'm not to sure about their staying power - we HAD a beautiful 56" Vaio TV - it only lasted 6 years before the Picture tube went out and they wanted 2 GRAND to fix it - I bought a little 50 $ Tv from the Repair man that same night - my husband hates it but we don't have the $$ for a new tv these days -

The same happened to a friend - her Sony TV died after only 5 years too

I remember having a Panasonic TV and that sucker lasted me 20 years before finally dying
V, we had a big screen from them and it ran into some issues as well. I think that with all the technology changes for these newer HD tvs that is why all the issues. But hon you have to know Murphy's Law..once the warranty is getting set to expire then is when the tv will act up. I think for any new tv (HD, DLP) you should definitely take that warranty.

The best way to get the tv fixed is by a local repairman. If you use their authorized repair shops them bastards ring your neck and rip you off so bad.

The old tvs are the best...tube is the only tv that lasts forever and forever.
