This was a cruise tour - 3 days on the ship and 9 days on land so it is hard to compare prices. The Holland America tour book shows 7 day cruises starting at about $1000 - however, by the time you add airfare to Vancouver, and a few other things, it is probably closer to $2000. But, that includes all meals. The shore excursions are always extra but you do not have to take them, there are plenty of things to do and see on your own.
My hubby is going on a 5 day cruise to the Caribbean with his sisters for only $400. I think the Caribbean cruises are less expensive than the Alaska tours
