Dogs do not understand TIME OUT.

If he is biting you it is because he does not respect you. Treat him as his mother or his litter mates would.

Puppies that are taken from their mothers before they have learned "dog ettiquet" will do this.

His mother would put him on his back and let him know he'd better not do that again.

His litter mates would yelp and walk away from him refusing to play with him.

I personally would try the more dominant role of the mother. It should only take about two times, before he learns that you will not tolerate it.

He will squeal like you are killing him, but it's just his way of saying "I'm sorry, I won't do that again."

Chewing on furniture is a phase, chewing on YOU is bad manners, and can be corrected.
