I decided to get a boy because my other dog is a jack russell, and she's a girl. i love her to death, but when i decided to get another puppy, i wanted a change and went for a boy. Bella (my JRT), is amazing too. I love both my dogs, girl and boy. I think it all just depends on the personalities, as someone else here said. Of course, you may have to deal with the period of girls and the lifting of legs from boys. But frankly, they're both great companions to me
