An ear infection can be a really painful thing. I had a jack russell that used to get them every so often. he was the most gentle, loving dog in the world; but he had to have a muzzle put on while they checked his ears. It really will respond to the drops you will get though; this is such a common thing that I don't believe it will be too very expensive to treat. His hearing is very important, and the pain relief is priceless. If after they look at him and treat him, the cost is too steep for you to handle all at once; they will have to let you pay it a little at a time. Go for it, he is your baby
