We've had many Yorkies - most have left us between 13 and 15. Some things common to look for:

Cushings
PRA, cataracts, Glaucoma
Diabetes
Obesity
Tooth and gum decay
Deafness
Trachea collapse
Kidney faliure

I agree that the biggest change in behavior is that they tend to mellow out, sleep more, bark less. I also find that as they get older, their dependence on you actually creates a stronger and deeper bond. When they leave you, your heart goes with them.
