I sleep alone in a king size bed so there's plenty of room for my Yorkie Sascha............as I'm alone and not in the best health her nearness is a comfort to me........but every once in a while she also goes up to a 10 right at bedtime and wants to jump all around and get up and down from the bed......which is hard for me. Since she wears a harness instead of a collar I don't think this practice is unsafe, but I'd never ever do it if she wore a collar......I attach a 4 ft leash to her harness and loop it over my hand and when she sees that she never even tries to get off the bed. I seldom do this but it is effective when I do. It probably works because there were times during training when her leash stayed attached so maybe she associates it with obedience. I just know I could never get up and down and up and down with her even when she was 5 months old. But she's such a good girl she seldom ever acts up at bedtime anymore. |
