My miracle baby My little Yorkie Cory has KCS of his left eye and I have to put three different medications in it every day so I don't leave him unless I have someone that I am sure can take care of his little eye and I don't board him because of that. August 4,2007 we went on vacation to Nags Head NC and took Cory, Sunday we took him out on the beach and he played and played and it was so hot that I took his ball and made stop and sit on my lap for awhile along about eleven we went in because I tought it was to hot for him.On Monday we were going to go on the ferry to Ocracoke and he was so hyper and had been every since we left home and his daddy was taking out the trash and was taking him out to the bathroom before we left, well he ran out the door he was so excited he was jumping around and before his daddy could pick him up he fell off of the porch of the apartment ten to twelve feet we grabbed him up of course I am screaming my baby my baby and we went to the animal hospital five miles down the road, I'm still screaming we went running in and they ran and got the vet and they had a trauma team and they started working on him and he had severe head trauma and was paralazed from the neck down and his left eye was almost out of his head the vet didn't give us much hope, he didn't think that Cory would make it through the night before the hospital closed his daddy went to see him(I was still hsytercial and in no shape to go so he didn't even tell me he was going)anyway the vet told him that it would take a miracle and on Tuesday he was a little better we went to see him and he knew us and I ask him to give mommy a kissy and he turned his little head and kissed me we were sobbing all the while and tellimg him how much we loved him and needed him so he needed to fight so we could take him home.We felt so guilty because we let him fall, we took him with us to make sure he would be safe and we let this happen, we called back later that evening and the vet said that he was a little better that he was trying to use his front legs and we were going to get him Wednesday morning at eight thirty to bring him home and when the vet came out he said well guys your dog is standing, walking, eating and going to the bathroom all of this in just thirty six hours. I started thanking God because we knew that it was the miracle that we all had prayed for .Our family and friends everyone that knew about it was praying and there was a prayer chain started for him and God answered. We had a seven hour drive and couldn't take him to the vet here at home until the next day so I called and got an appointment for nine a.m. and we took him to his vet and he is doing great ,he has a long way to go but he is barking and playing with his toys and we have to keep him still and quiet for the next six weeks and believe me that is going to be a job. It has already cost over $1000 in three days I don't care about(as long as we have Cory )that I just worry about being able to meet the rest of his medical costs.I just wanted to get the word out that God does work miracles,I have the proof. By the way we have another Yorkie his name is Niko but we call him Nikki and we love him just as much as Cory. They don't have any ideal of what a dogs life is because they are our babies and they are treated like babies.Anyone who reads this please put little Cory in your prayers because he still has a long way to go. Thank You !!!Cheryl Posey(NupNup@aol.com)P.S. Already this summer we lost our cat and one of our cocktiels all in the same week. |
