I had a little girl for 15 years....she mellowed as she got older...she became slower and couldn't jump as high....her eyes were fine....but, her hearing went and I know she was completely deaf.....So, with my new yorkie....I clean his ears with witch hazel and a q-tip to prevent him from losing his hearing....I only feed him hard crunchy food to give him strong healthy teeth that will last a lifetime....My 15 yr. old developed congestive heart failure....they said I could keep her alive with medication....but, I couldn't stand to see her suffer....It killed me, but I put her down....I know yorkies live to be 15-17...but, i heard the first thing to go is their hearing....no pun intended
