this is very true. If your dog has a known liver or kidney problem then no they shouldn't be put on Rimadyl. Hopefully your vet has enough knowledge to not do this. All of our patients that come in have pre-op blood work done so we can screen for this and know which anti-inflammatory to put them on. Most cases we put on Rimadyl. A smaller percentage we put on Deramaxx. Alot of small dogs tho, we put on Meloxicam, aka Metacam.
