We had the same issue with Chachi and the girl we were trying to mate him to. He was just plain not interested. Then yesterday he would not leave her alone and we had success.
My breeder said an experienced boy will not bother with them if they are not ovulating. And that must have been the case cause he sure was interested yesterday.
