Oops...sorry it took me so long to get back....the recipe says to cook them 40-60 minutes. It's been awhile since I made them, but I think that it did take maybe about 50 minutes and then I put the bacon on top for 10.....they really are good. I also have made them with a recipe of jalapeno baked beans and they were equally as good. In fact, when I did that, I think I decided that the original recipe was just as good and not as much work . And I believe I baked them at 325-350 deg, since that's usually what I cook in the oven at. Also, now that I think about it, I think I put the bacon criss-crossed across the top of the onions and cooked it along with the onions. It must have been in the original page that I tore out of a cooking magazine!
